Projects

Partnership with Santa Maria, Bogotá, Colombia

Fundacion Santa Maria (FSM) is a non-profit organization in Bogotá.

After a first phase (started in 2003) of setting up the computer lab, and training the trainers, the partnership between TINFA and FSM has evolved to reaching out, and doing creative projects.

Here are many of the projects that Santa Maria is conducting in partnership with Coe Elementary in Seattle (Kevin Crozier's class)

Partnership with Ana Restrepo del Corral, Bogotá, Colombia

TINFA is partenering with Fundacion Ana Restrepo del Corral , a local non-profit providing primary and secondary education to low income kids.   TINFA has provided funding for a new computer lab and teacher training.

Partnership with FUNDAP, Xetuj, Guatemala

In 2005 TINFA partnered with FUNDAP, a local non-profit, to fund a computer room for a Community School in Guatemala's western region of Xetuj. The school serves 151 students (75 boys and 76 girls).
In October 2010 TINFA signed a new agreement with FUNDAP to expand the Community School model to two other villages.

Becoming a TINFA partner

Currently, TINFA is planning on expanding its relationships with schools in Bogotá, Colombia. This will create a geographical hub, in which we can provide local support and training.  Once we finetune this model, we will consider opening a new Hub in a different region.
Here are the criteria we use, when discussing with prospect schools.
